SECURAPLEX™ Gate Security System

The SECURAPLEX™ - Guard Gate System, is a state of the art, microwave , semi-passive transponder, security system, that provides reliable range, compact profile, and ease of use.

In a dual guardhouse implementation we have implemented the SECURAPLEX™ Guard Gate System in the following configuration:

In the Main (West) guard gate is installed the SECURAPLEX™ Main Server in a physically secure, battery backup protected, communications cabinet that is the heart of the SECURAPLEX™ security system. The SECURAPLEX™ Main Server consists of a firewall, and virus protected Windows 2000 server. This Main Server provides support for all other components of the system.

Each guard gate is equipped with two workstations that provide the on duty guard with the ability to monitor and manage any incoming and outgoing traffic through their gates. The monitoring workstation in each gate displays real-time activity of resident traffic in and out of the island. The guard workstation provides for the ability to query pertinent, resident information and manage each residents’ visitor information as required. The guard workstation also consists of an easy to use touch-screen workstation that is tailored to the specific needs of the Harbor Island installation.

Both East and West guard gates are also equipped with gate controller systems that interface with the gate monitoring workstation. The gate controller securely controls the opening of the incoming and outgoing gates.

Each monitored gate is also equipped with a pair of ultra high frequency microwave antennas that interact with each tag that’s been issued to a residence vehicle. These antennas are used to read the unique identification ID of each tag and communicate with the gate controller system. Once the tag has been read and the gate controller has interfaced with the Main Server to verify that the vehicle tag is authorized, the gate controller initiates an open signal to the gate arms and the gate will open.

The range of the tag and antenna interaction is approximately 15 to 20 feet from the antenna pole. This range will provide better performance than the existing low frequency tags that are being used today.

The Administration System is located at the main security office and is networked with the main server for the input of new resident information, and the administration of daily information changes. This system is also equipped with an ultra high density barcode reader to aid in the issuance of tags to residence vehicles.
