Tag Mounting Kit - Tamper Detect with Double Sided Tape

Wavetrend Technologies series of Radio Frequency Identification Tags permits hands-free employee access control and positive long range Tag identification for real-time asset loss prevention, inventory management, and personnel/asset tracking. Tags can be used to identify and track laptops, office machines, computer systems, tools, telephones, shop equipment, employees and visitors in office buildings, hospitals, retail stores, warehouses, industrial facilities, mines and military installations.

Wavetrend Technologies Active Tags have option for sensors that can instantly detect that a Tag has been removed from an “authorized” asset and send an immediate alarm to an access control or security monitoring system. Tamper detect feature requires a special mounting system that is shown below.

A small barrel shaped magnet is glued to the mounting tape and inset into a hole within Semi-Permanent Double Sided Tape. If the tag is removed from its surface the barrel shaped magnet will also be removed from the tag.

The magnet is positioned over a reed switch which is within the tag. When the magnet is placed near the reed switch, it changes state. It now starts the sequence of 4 transmissions in alarm every 0.4 seconds. It also causes an internal counter to increment. The counter keeps track of how many times the reed switch changes state up to 255, then resets again to zero.

In order to sense this Tamper Detect Feature the software application implemented must monitor and report the state of this internal alarm counter.

Active Tags are available in various sizes with various mounting devices for assets and vehicles, or can be worn as personnel identification badges. Please specify which size tag the mounting kit is being attached to.
